Am I Eligible For The Boiler Upgrade Scheme?
You may qualify if you own an eligible domestic or small non-domestic property in England or Wales and plan to replace a fossil fuel system (gas, oil, LPG) or direct electric heating (such as storage heaters or electric boilers).
Key Eligibility Criteria:
- Property Ownership: Open to homeowners, small business owners, and private landlords.
- MCS-Certified Installer Requirement: The system must be supplied and fitted by an accredited installer, such as J D Heating and Renewables, who will ensure your system meets scheme standards.
- EPC Requirements: Your property must have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). (Note: Under updated government rules, you are no longer required to complete outstanding insulation recommendations listed on your EPC before accessing the grant).
- System Capacity: The system must have a total capacity under 45kWth and be sized by your installer to cover 100% of your home’s heating and hot water needs.
- Property Type Rules: Excludes standard commercial new builds and social housing, but eligible self-build properties can qualify.
